The premium tier funds language-pack production, server costs, and the contributors who keep authoring lessons. A learner who genuinely can't afford £3/month can request a free Premium year via the NGO programme — nobody who needs the school gets turned away.
Built on open-source models, free-tier infrastructure, no Anthropic or OpenAI APIs — the costs we cover are the costs that actually exist: human authoring, native-speaker audio, the small amount of paid hosting beyond free tiers. £3/month covers a learner for an entire year of server + Workers AI usage with margin.
Foundations and grant-makers underwriting cohorts in low-income communities is a first-class part of how we operate.
